About the Concert

The Worthington Chamber Orchestra (WCO), formerly McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, was founded in 2013 by Dr. Antoine T. Clark. The chamber orchestra’s mission is to support local artists while providing diverse and dynamic programming that entertains, inspires, and fosters music education. WCO cultivates meaningful relationships between artists and the Worthington community.

For over a decade, the chamber orchestra’s programming has focused on traditional repertoire, commissioning new music, music education, family-friendly concerts, diversity, and unique collaborations with artists throughout the central Ohio. Throughout the season, members of the WCO will perform chamber music by Wolfgang A. Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Franz Schubert at the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center and St. Mary in Columbus.

Compelling interpretations, inventive performances and an energetic stage presence are the hallmarks of American conductor Antoine T. Clark. The founding Music and Artistic Director of the Worthington Chamber Orchestra in Ohio (formerly McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra), now in its eleventh season, Mr. Clark was named Assistant Conductor of West Virginia’s Wheeling Symphony Orchestra in fall 2021. A passionate advocate of arts education, he served as Cincinnati Symphony’s 2022 MAC Music Innovator. The program, which highlights leading African American classical musicians who embody artistry, innovation and commitment to education and community engagement, saw Clark leading chamber music and orchestral performances in schools and throughout the community during his residency.
